How Good Or Bad Is Pinnacle Video Editing Software?

Pinnacle video editing software, the media suite released by Avid Technology, has been the talk of the professional editing town for several years now. Right from the time Pinnacle received both bouquets and brickbats for its Liquid Edition (which is not rechristened as Avid Liquid), Pinnacle's products have been ruling the roost. Its more recent products, belonging to the Pinnacle Studio video editing software suites, such as the Studio 10, Studio 11 and its various enhanced versions are making waves.

The latest offering of the Pinnacle Studio Media Suite are the three improved versions of Studio 11, which are simply titled as Studio, Studio Plus and Studio Ultimate. This triumvirate is designed to function for the Windows Vista platform, and will flounder at lower speeds. They have many improved features. For example, the old Smartsounds music production system used in the earlier versions is now replaced with a smarter and sleek version, the Scorefitter, which is another of the Pinnacle Studio software applications that has been built on a midi platform.

The Pinnacle video editing software, called Ultimate, has many more state of the art sound features incorporated within itself. It has great support for Dolby Surround 5.1, and it has a tool that can clean out all the unwanted sound present on the recorded films, which are technically referred to as noise. There are also features to pan and zoom in and out of the film clips, which brings it in the league of the higher-end professional video editing software. Several other professional video editing software features, such as producing chroma key effects and proDAD VitaScene are included in Ultimate.

All products of the Pinnacle Studio video editing software have some markedly improved features. The interface is also smarter, and the timeframe is scalable, which allows for easy selection and dumping of the portions of the video you want to keep. It has a built in converter that can convert the analog video input to a digital form, which is required for digital film editing. Due to this, the capture process is made significantly simpler. Basic features like burning the final edited video draft onto a DVD are also included. This is a very elementary feature, but you will be surprised at how many professional video editing software available in the store shelves today do not have this very essential feature.

The Pinnacle Studio software in its new versions has also taken care of several of the glitches and bad spots that hounded the earlier versions, especially the Studio 9. At the very least, the Pinnacle video editing software applications of today will not make your computers crash! And nor will they run slowly. But it is essential to have a good computer configuration with Windows Vista installed on it. A Pentium 4 is definitely recommended, and though the packaging says 512 MB of RAM would be good enough, tests have shows that the best performance of the Pinnacle video editing software is much more improved with at least 1 GB of RAM.

In conclusion, this award-winning software is worth a consideration if you are planning to buy a starter video editing tool that does not cost too much, and does not flood you with unnecessary features built into its interface.
